The Senior Copywriter is a key role within the Manhattan Associates' Content Marketing team and is responsible for planning and creating content across marketing channels. This position reports to the Director of Content Marketing as an individual contributor.

Essential to the success of this role is a strong portfolio that demonstrates an understanding of the complex and nuanced technical and operational challenges and how to transform them into engaging copy that speaks to well-informed, senior-level target audience in retail, wholesale and/or manufacturing industries (with responsibility for digital operations, store operations, supply chain/distribution/transportation, inventory planning/forecasting/replenishment, and/or enterprise technology). This role is ideally suited for a writer from a creative agency or corporate marketing department with 5+ years of working with B2B technology, preferably in the retail vertical. Core Responsibilities:

* The Senior Copywriter is primarily responsible for the development of written content for use by the marketing and sales teams to generate awareness as well as leads and accelerate velocity of opportunities in the sales process. Content developed include short and long form pieces using the following media types:

Research reports/whitepapers 

*Campaign collateral (ebooks, infographics, articles, etc.)

* Digital content (interactive, email, blog posts, social media posts, etc.)

* Advertising copy

* Tradeshow signage

* Video scripts

* Presentation content

* The Senior Copywriter is responsible for the full lifecycle of written content

* :Developing an initial outline for the content based on the assignment provided by the Director of Content Marketing

* Scheduling, conducting and documenting interviews with product and industry experts within the company (and occasionally customers or other external SMEs) to synthesize information in order to create a detailed outline or draft of the content

* Perform research (industry publications, analyst reports, earnings transcripts, etc.) to obtain data to support and substantiate the content

* Draft and edit the content per feedback received from management and SMEs

* Collaborate closely with designers to ensure copy and visuals tightly integrated, distinctive, and effectively communicate the message to the relevant audience

* Work with channel and campaign managers to plan, measure and iterate on the usage of content across tactics and media

* Assist in the development of an editorial calendar for new content

* Prioritize formats and topics

* Author product positioning documents and create a library of source content for use by marketing channel managers

* Maximize use of existing content 

* Analyze competitor and industry content for coverage of topics of interest to Manhattan Associates 

Job Requirements:

* 5+ years of B2B marketing content development experience for a creative agency or technology company, preferably in the retail vertical

* Experience tracking and managing content performance

* Experience maintaining an editorial calendar

* Experience interviewing subject matter experts in technical fields and translating interviews into approachable copy

* Experience working closely with designers to create campaign collateral and innovative marketing/sales enablement materials

* A passion for technology, business operations and telling complex stories in new and unique ways

* Ability to work independently with minimal direction; strong decision making skills and problem solving skills

* Ability to write 9-12 pieces each month across a variety of formats, with word counts ranging from 250-2,000 words

* Proven ability to exercise both left- and right-brain thinking, using highly creative methods to create narratives around complex technological topics
