Rare/Fans 1st Media is looking for an experienced videographer/editor who can support the day-to-day online video needs for Rare and its sister sites. The right candidate will be able to script, produce, shoot, edit and distribute digital video. Theyll be comfortable in a skunkworks environment making quick, witty instructional videos and fast edits of existing video for distribution on social media. Promotional videos such as sizzle reels and integrated presentations will be required. Additional and occasional on-location work and some off-hours work will occur. Proficiency in Premiere Pro is essential. After Effects experience is preferred. A passion and understanding of the online video space is required. The candidate should have experience with video publishing at an enterprise level preferably in a large media or entertainment company. Experience with the technology behind the acquisition, edit, encode, playback and streaming of live and on demand video is required. Experience with Wirecast , Facebook Live, and Periscope is a bonus. An understanding of video content publishing workflows, distribution methods and content strategies is preferred. Bachelors degree preferred.
5-7 years media experience preferred. 2-3 years experience in online video production preferred.
Ability to work off hours when needed.
Experience with online video platforms, specifically Brightcove, or other, large CMS.
Understanding of video encoding and common video codecs and formats.
Experience with WordPress a plus.
Familiarity with online video publishing workflows and infrastructure including media asset management and video editing programs.
Working knowledge of industry standard copyright practices mandatory.
